Q. What is BrassTacks?
A. BrassTacks is a private and independent Pakistani Think-Tank and Defense Analysis Consulting Group, specializing in groundbreaking, cutting-edge Research on regional and international political, economic and national-security issues. We are devoted to providing thought-leadership to the country at this critical juncture in our history.
Q. How can I subscribe to the weekly assessment reports/ They are too expensive, what do I do?
A. The reports are for professional institutions and businesses. We do not withhold any vital information from the public, so you are not really missing out on anything extremely important as far as national security issues are concerned.

Q. Who is Zaid Zaman Hamid/ What are his qualifications?
A. Mr.Zaid Zaman Hamid, a veteran of the Afghan Jihad, is a security consultant and strategic defense analyst. He is an engineer by qualification. You can read more about him on BrassTacks Website.
Q. Are you affiliated with any political or religious group?
A. No; we are independent of all religious and political affiliations.
Q. You are very vocal about your views; has there been no reaction/opposition from the establishment?
A. Measures have been taken to curb our efforts. We have been banned on state TV. We recieve routine threats from all the quarters we have confronted. We take this in our stride and do not make too much fuss about it; but that does not mean we are not at risk of serious harm.
Q. Why don''t you quote exact references in your talks?
A. There is limited time and it is not possible to quote every reference. However, all claims can be verified and if we have erred in any way we never hesitate to rectify our mistakes
 Q. Why does Zaid Hamid support the Army and ISI?
A. Today, Pakistan is being respected in the West and the East due to the fact that it is a Nuclear Power. If there is anything that is standing in the way of Israel from completely annihilating the Muslim World, it is the Atom Bomb of Pakistan. This same Islamic Atom Bomb is also stopping India who wants its supremacy all over Asia. It is going to be this Pak Army, which according to the Hadees-e-Rasool [sm], is going to fight the Ghazwa-e-Hind, inshAllah. Undoubtedly, there are black sheep in the Army too, but we should not be foolish to turn against our own Army.
Q. Why is there no practical work and only sittings with the youth?
A. The Azan that we are giving at this time is the practical work that we are doing. Our duty is like the duty of Iqbal. He invigorated the Muslim Ummah at that time and gave the idea of an independent homeland for Muslims. This is what we are doing, filling the minds of the youth with positivity and hope. If a nation has to succeed, first it has to get out of despair and hopelessness. A despondent nation cannot survive nor can it win any war.
Q. Why does not Zaid Hamid make a political party or join a political party?
A. We are not a part of the political system of Pakistan, but it does not mean that we are not interfering in the politics of Pakistan! Every day, we give azan about a new issue through internet and highlight the corruption of the political parties. Our duty is that of a Moazzin and we are doing that, alhamdulillhah.
Q. What is Takmeel-e-Pakistan?
 A. Pakistan was established in the name of Islam, but Islamic Shariah was never implemented here by the ruling elite. Takmeel-e-Pakistan means that the creation of Pakistan has to be fulfilled through the implementation of the laws given by Allah and Rasoolullah [sm].“Pakistan kamatlabkya? La ilahaillallah. Q. How can we contribute to the mission of Takmeel-e-Pakistan?
A. You can contribute towards the mission of Takmeel-e-Pakistan, firstly by focusing on your spiritual training. Make your connection to Rasoolullah [sm] stronger. Secondly, you can spread Sir Zaid Hamid’s message in your circle of friends and family. Whether you study or work, you can contribute to the mission like many volunteers who make CDs of Sir Zaid's programmes and spread it.
Q. Why does Zaid Hamid promote Allama Iqbal, who was a poet and not a religious scholar?
A. Allama Iqbal was more of a spiritual thinker than of a poet. His poetry is not of worldly love like that of other poets. He was a Faqir of Allah, whose each and every verse was written to spread the message of Quran and bring people closer to the Prophet [sm]. He was a great visionary who gave the idea of this Madina-e-Sani, Pakistan. So do not think that he was any ordinary poet. His vision was prophetic and it is extremely important for the youth to focus on his message in order to become better Muslims.
